The New Music on the Bayou Festival returns to Ruston for its 5th iteration on June 3-5. This three-day annual event offers audience members eight free concerts of contemporary classical music in Ruston and Monroe. Over 300 pieces were submitted by nearly 150 composers from across North and Central America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Over half of the forty-seven chosen composers will be traveling here to attend the Festival, with others participating virtually. Also taking place are several rehearsals and composer presentations, all of which are free and open to the public. Concert venues include the Monroe Downtown Gallery Crawl, Louisiana Tech’s Centennial Plaza Amphitheatre, Ruston Artisans, Monroe's Biedenharn Museum & Gardens, and the Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge.
